The American Revolution through the Eyes of African Americans,Native Americans and Women

The American Revolution is one of America’s most defining moments. Many people learn about the Revolution through the lens of the patriots and famous figures like George Washington. However, many never learn about the Revolution from the perspective of African Americans, Native Americans, and women who also have had an immense contribution in America’s fight for Independence.

On Wednesday, October 30, our 10G class resolved to fix this issue by researching the contributions of prominent African Americans, Natives, and women in America’s War for Independence. These presentations featured individuals such as Colonel Tye, Deborah Sampson, Lydia Darragh, Joseph Brant, and many more!

They presented their findings to the middle school grades who will be learning about the American Revolution later in the year.
