National Merit Scholarship Finalist / National African American Scholar and National Hispanic Scholar

Elizabeth Williams, a senior from Franklin Township resident, was recently selected as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. She made history at Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School as the only Finalist in their first-ever graduating class. The 17-year-old was chosen as one of 16,000 Finalists from over 1.5 million students nationwide who took the PSAT in 2019. In the pool of less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, Elizabeth will continue in the competition for one of 7,600 National Merit Scholarships and to earn the title of Merit Scholar.

Due to her excellent performance on the PSAT, she was also recognized as a National African American Scholar and a National Hispanic Scholar.
Elizabeth intends to major in neuroscience, music, and international relations in college.
