TEECS 1st Battery Recycling

TEECS 1st Battery Recycling

TEECS’ Environmental Alliance Club has officially joined forces with the “Recycle My Battery” organization to help make a difference for our planet. Did you know that old/used batteries get thrown away and end up in our landfills where they leak toxic chemicals into our ground? Well, our school now has a recycling box composed of special materials that will be used for storing used batteries until they are ready to be sent to a recycling facility that will properly degrade and repurpose them. This can help reduce the negative impact they have on the environment. In the photo you will see the EAC club, run by Mrs. J Patel and Ms. Suarez, receiving the battery recycle bin for the first time as it was handed over to Mr. Yildiz from a student founder/organizer, Sri Nihal Tammana, on behalf of the “Recycle My Battery” campaign. We are hoping to get the entire school to donate any used batteries and help lessen its effects on our precious grounds.
