TEECS Earns the MSA Accreditation!

Congratulations 🎉 Great News! UPDATE: TEECS Earns the MSA Accreditation!

The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools is a voluntary, peer-based, non-profit association that performs peer evaluation and regional accreditation of public and private schools in the Mid-Atlantic United States and certain foreign institutions of American origin. Accreditation is a self-evaluation process that schools and school systems voluntarily use to demonstrate they are meeting a defined set of research-based performance standards.

Over the past year, TEECS’ planning team worked together to complete an in-depth self-study that required input from a coalition of school leaders, teachers, parents and students. Following the self-study, a team of volunteer educators from Middle States-accredited schools conducted a virtual peer review to observe our school operations and interview various stakeholders. After the intense three-day investigation, the peer-review team concluded that they would recommend TEECS to the Middle States Association for Accreditation! The final step was a multi-level review by some of the best educators in the field before being officially approved.

When it comes to evaluating schools and school systems, the Middle States Association looks at the whole school – not just test scores. They look at how the school performs in 12 key Standards for Accreditation:

Mission
Governance and Leadership
School Improvement Planning
Finances
Facilities
School Organization and Staff
Health and Safety
Educational Program
Assessment and Evidence of Student Learning
Student Services
Student Life and Activities
Information Resources

We are extremely proud to have earned this accreditation and we thank our entire TEECS family for their support!
