Annual School Lottery held:

Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School held its Annual School Lottery in the gym on Saturday, Feb. 2. The school received more than 1,000 applications for the 2019-2020 year. To increase the diversity of the school, they have held a weighted lottery. They included economically disadvantaged students’ names twice in the lottery, which was approved by the NJ Department of Education. Parents, students, and staff members manually worked the lottery in front of hundreds of prospective parents. A Notary was present during the lottery. The main office secretary will notify you if your child has been accepted to kindergarten. They will not be able to contact every family that was put on the waiting list; however, see the lottery list pictures posted on their website if you would like to find out your child’s number. If your child has been accepted to kindergarten, you will be informed of the next steps. Visit
