On Friday, Dec. 6, Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School (TEECS)’s PTO held its annual Cookies with Santa event. Nearly 80 students from grades K – 7 participated. Santa arrived on a fire truck, courtesy of the East Millstone Fire Department. Colleen Rooney, from Colleen Rooney Photography, took photos of students and their families meeting Santa. Students were able to visit various rooms for different activities. In the Art room, students could visit Santa’s Workshop to build and paint a real wood project, courtesy of the South Brunswick Home Depot. There were also classrooms set up to play Bingo and hear their favorite Christmas stories, read by TEECS teachers. In the cafeteria, students could make snowman photo clips and straw wreaths, and play games like ring toss and poke-a-tree as well as write a letter to Santa. It was a festive and fun evening for students, their families, and the teacher and staff volunteers.
