Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School Honors Military Members

SOMERSET, NJ – Students at Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter School honored the military at two events on Veteran’s Day, according to a news release.

TEECS elementary school students in grades K through 6 listened to military experiences from special guest, Army Captain Alex Medeiros, according to school officials. Representatives from each class presented Medeiros with various handwritten messages, expressing their appreciation of the men and women who serve in the US Military, school officials say.

Students from TEECS middle and high school engaged in interactive conversations with Sgt. First Class Larabina, Sgt. Smart, and FTPD Officer, Jose Jamie in the school’s Learning Center, school officials say. Students performed poetry pieces, gave speeches, sang songs and asked their special quests questions.

“TEECS is always thankful for our brave men and women who serve our country, and today was a great opportunity to show that appreciation,” TEECS Lead Person, Oguz Yildiz, said in a news release.
